Seems like a standard WA/WB situation. You played it perfectly.

Why not raise the turn and check behind on the river. If he reraises you can easily fold and if he gets tricky and leads on a tough river like the ace you can fold too. As played you have to call a river bet hoping to chop.

I really don't see what good comes from raising the turn. I am way ahead or way behind and nothing I beat is likely to call a raise. Might aswell call and let him block the river with a weaker king.

Sorry, it's the limit hold'em player in me. Way ahead/way behind basically means you're crushed by him or you're way ahead of him and don't really fear giving him free cards.
This is a good example. If he has an 8, you're beaten and want to lose the minimum, if he has a weaker king, you'd like him to keep betting. Thus, just calling his bets/betting if he checks is the best way to play this hand in my opinion.

You can raise the turn for value. If you think your opponent is donkish enough to bet into you on the flop and turn with a weak king then he must be donkish enough to call a raise with it. I don't see how blindly calling down is a better line.

By the way you know that you aren't ahead of a weak king on the river anymore and you have to call a bet hoping to chop right?

Note that making a nice prelop raise in position makes this hand a lot easier to play.
