30/60-- Canterbury

After 2 months of being 86'd, I thought it was time for a live session. How badly did I play this hand?

TAG BMW hat raises from UTG+2, LAG jerk calls, I 3 bet A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] from the CO. O.C ( A serious LAG) is in the BB cold calls.

Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
BMW chks
jerk chks
I bet
everyone calls

Turn: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
O.C bets, BMW calls, Jerk calls, I call

River:K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
O.C chks
BMW chks
Jerk bets, I raise. O.C begrudgingly folds, BMW folds.
Jerk calls.

Bad Raise on my part?

Is this Andy? Anyways, I like your line for the river.

Oh yeah it's the O.C you think it is. No, it's not Andy Fox who wrote this.

Do you know who I am? I'm surprised that that OC guy was in the 30 game. How lucky for you. I watched him call a raise from the big blind in the 15 game with 72o. I like your line here, btw. But how do you handle a river 3-bet?

Were you really 86ed, and if so, why?

OC is not lag, he's just L. Thinking otherwise is an extremely bad mistake. BMW Jeff most likely doesn't have you beat, will call with worse hands, and won't reraise you without a hand that crushes you (i.e. will definitly never 3 bet you on the river with AK) so your river raise has value. Your turn call, though, probably doesn't.

I probablly do know who you are PokerBob, but I'm not good with everybody's names. I'm sure you know who I am since I'm one of the only females to play 15 or higher there.

As for the river; if the jerk were to 3 bet me, I suppose I would have to call, although 4 betting crosses my mind thinking he holds a K w/ the spade draw which missed. O.C IS very loose, AND can be aggressive sometimes. He kept showing myself and the guy next to him his cards so I know he was playing aggressively AND playing BS. Perhaps the turn call wasn't the best play?

not a big fan of the raise. The bettor may have you beat with diamonds or have little. were the preflop action different, or this player a terrible hand reader, I would change my mind.

In a nutshell, if the river were an ace, the raise would be much worse than it is with a king, but I think the same problems apply to a lesser degree.

Agreed. I fold the turn.

I should qualify this by saying that I fold the turn. If you are gonna call, it would seem odd not to raise the river once you make your hand IMO.
