ITPM book AQo test
In the book Inside The Poker Mind, it has a section where it asks you what would you do if an unimaginative player raised from MP and you had AQo. I said call, but the book said that is a devastating mistake.
When facing this situation online, what are the criteria you look for when facing an online raiser of these specs. |
Re: ITPM book AQo test
Are we to assume that all other players in the hand have folded. That's, like, really important and stuff.

Re: ITPM book AQo test
Yeah, calling is pretty bad. I'm 3betting unless I think AQo is near the bottom of the range of hands they would raise with. Probably I'd need a pfr of 4% or lower to fold.

Re: ITPM book AQo test
With the AJs and KQs I'll call if there's LPs behind me.

Re: ITPM book AQo test
There is such a huge difference between MP1 and MP3 in all of these examples that I'd like a little more information before responding. If it's the first to act in MP, I 3-bet AQo and AQs against this opponent (9% PFR is fairly high FWIW), and fold the other two. There are image-dependent situations where I'd 3-bet the other two and table-dependent situations where I'd fold all 4.
