Do you make this call?

Final table of a top 9 paid tournament, with 99 runners. 8 remain and chips are as follows (me being the shortest stack) ($25 buy in)
First place pays $800 with 8th paying $125 and about a $25 jump up per place up until third which gives $280 or so.

Seat1(UTG)- 10,160
Seat2 - 18,880
Seat3 - 13,130
Seat4 - 72,350
Seat5 - 9,540
Seat6(Villain)- 34,650
Seat7(SB) - 29,890
Hero(BB) - 9,400

Blinds are 1200/2400 so after posting hero is on 7000
Dealt to hero- KsTs

5 folds, villain raises to 9600
SB folds
Hero?

Oh sorry, Villain has not been particularly aggressive at all, he hasn't shown down a hand since i've come to the final table (about 15 hands ago) so therefore hasn't stepped out of line. I have no real read at this point but I'm under the impression he is not a maniac.

I think a call is in order here, smells like a small pocket pair, not wanting a call. If you want to try and move up the money (6th-7th) than fold, but if your playing to win, now is a good time to stick your stack in there.

I respectfully disagree. This is an obvious fold....
K10 is not a premium hand. you still have chips left even after the SB so why waste it on what (you pray) is a coinflip situation.

You are betting 700 to win 1300, almost 2-1 pot odds., assuming no ante. KTs is a good hand. I think you have to call.

Re: Do you make this call?

Villain is getting almost 2:1 on his call. I am not a math person, but that seems good enough to me to call here. He is behind a pair, dominated by a bigger king, but also ahead of hands (QJ, Q10) that would raise on the button. Given he will be left with only 3BBS I think this is an easy call.

Result~

I called Villain showed AQ he hit a Q I hit a T. I'd make the call again because I had pot odds to do so and I could have a decent amount of chips and make a play for a higher place.

See I really wasn't sure if this was the right play so I thought I'd get your insights on here.

Thank you.

While I was reading this my first guess was he had something between A10-AK. A small pocket pair was a possibillity too. Usually if someone has QQ-AA or even JJ, they'll make a raise that merely pot commits you to push all in, hence enticing action and showing confidence in their hand.

I would call in a heart beat. You were getting good odds for K10 vs AQ and it could of easily went the other way. You lost out on $25 or $50 dollars. But if you double up, you're in good position to win the tournament.

I fold. this almost seems like a well behind-slightly behind call. I don't see much in this guy's range that you are ahead of.
