Wanted opinions on this call, i figured i didnt have pot odds, but the implied check/raise on river were ok.

Agree or fold it?

I`d raise preflop most of the time.

Calling the turn is ok I think, as you get 2 BB on the river sometimes when you hit.

i always call QJo in LP. and only call QJO ep/mp on passive/loose table. Usually fold.


Raise QJs in LP, Call the rest(EP/MP)

I don`t think it`s terrible but raising is better.
Why?
1) You might buy the button.
2) You want to steal the blinds.


If there`s someone in in front of you it`s ok to limp as you won`t be able to steal.

If in the 1st two position it`s even more important to raise (if you don`t fold).

#1 you're first in.
#2 you're in CO
#3 you already have the blind's money, why give them a free look at the flop? make them pay to play.
#4 even if they call, you have a strong hand SH
#5 you actually don't have the outs to continue with your draw on the turn, but had you raised preflop and bet the flop, you might have won it right there and you'd have outs to continue with your draw.

It's very thin. Given the numbers you posted for button, I'm not very confident in him betting the river.

This plus you can't give 8 full outs for your OESD due to the flush on the board means you need even more odds than normal to proceed.

These two things push this to a fold.

Yeh call is tight, I didnt think he had a flush draw... but i guess thats more hope than read. He could have held k[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] x[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] i suppose.

So better play would be:
Preflop: Raise
Flop: Bet
Turn: Call
River: bet(Or check raise - Bet is safer in this line).
