poker underground
 

i am fairly new to the whole poker scene. i am trying to find some regular games to play in, and was just wondering if there is really a whole underground poker culture like in the movies and if there are games going on all around me that i never knew about. any advise on finding games or anything like that would be appreciated. my email is mtymouse911@hotmail.com

Here's the main problem w/ what you just asked, no one knows where the hell you live to tell you. However, to answer your question as best I can, if there are legal places to play around you, then you probably won't find too many underground games going on. If there are not cardrooms around then there are usually plenty of places to play. I'm from Dallas and there are no legal cardrooms, but I know plenty of places to play underground. I think it's pretty safe to say there is gambling going on in just about every city of every state legal or illegal, you just have to know who to talk to. Post where you live and you might get a better response.

i live in baton rouge, la. thanks for the advice. if anyone could give me some help as to who i could talk to or where to look i would appreciate it.

get a job as a pizza-delivery boy on the weekends. then keep an eye for shady-looking places with hallways that have 2 doors, a camera, and have to buzz you in.

Go play a few weekends at the nearest casino (when not delivering pizzas), if you bring up the question enough you will get the answers you want.
