I'm really curious about psychotropic drugs after hearing friends' experiences, reading Don Juan and Pikal, etc.

I'm not going to do anything incredibly dangerous though

I'm curious about a lot of things: peyote, shrooms, etc. if you could list concerns for these or similar drugs please do so.

You can talk about your experiences with these but I would much rather hear about the immediate health impacts.

I'm not a big drug guy, but I'm trying shrooms sometime soon. Apparently they don't have any long term negative effects as long as you're not popping them daily.

you can't pop them daily. they will stop working very quickly. you have to wait periods between usage to get a decent trip. like lsd, the drug inherently prevents daily addiction.

I used to be a big boomer, like twice a month for 6 months, or so. Never really had a bad trip, the worst part is coming down. The most beautiful feelings and thoughts I have ever had were on shrooms and I feel I am a better person for having them. Pink Floyd is a great guide for your first time, eventually you will get into really crazy techno (i.e. Infected Mushroom), if you continue to experiment. I would suggest going to a park and gazing over a lake or a river, and just feeling nature and your surroundings. Don't go to a theme park or a mall, just because seeing people who aren't tripping will warp your entire trip. Some essentials are...
1. Daily C
2. Water
3. Tobacco
4. Kind Bud (try for something other than you're every day beast)
5. At least 1 close friend
