Blind Levels at the WPT Paris

I read in reports that in the final of the Grand Prix de Paris the WPT decreed that blind levels should be lowered to 30 minutes.

Is this true?

If so, has anyone got thoughts on playing for over $500k first prize money on a crap shoot structure?

Well, I won't like it. But, I guess I'd still play for the 500k.

Is there any tournament structure which doesn't get a flood of complaints?

Apparently the whole tournament was played on a 90 minute blind level structure *until* they made the final 6. Then it went to a 30 minute structire.

Just seems very weird and not at all player friendly.

Usual WPT final tables are 60 minute levels, then 30 minutes when it gets to heads-up. It did seem to start with 60 minute levels, then it got lowered to 30 minutes. Assuming what I was reading on the blondepoker.com forum was true, the TV crew was charging 100,000 Euros/hour. If that's true, it surely would help make the case this is the last year the WPT makes a stop in Paris.

No, but Phil Gordon and some other pros are skipping the WPT events for the WSOP Circuit becuase of the structure. It's discussed in this thread.
