What would you do here?

This was a house game I was at on monday, I wasn't in the hand but UTG +1 is a guy I know so i can trust him on what he told me he had.

2/4 no limit.

UTG +1 has about 250.
SB has about 400.

UTG +1 raises to 16 with AQ off. Folds to CO who calls, sb raises to 50. UTG +1 calls. CO folds.

FLOP - A K 9
sb bets 100.
utg +1 thinks for a long time and folds.

sb said he had Q's.
What would you do if you were UTG +1?
Comments on the hand appreciated.

I'd probably limp AQ up front if this is a full game. Then I'd call SB's PF raise, unless I know him to be a rock. The pot would be smaller, so I could call his smaller flop bet and see what he does on the turn.

Ater you get reraised preflop, fold. NO flop are you happy with. Q hi, you are worried about KK or AA, A hi, you are worried about AK. You will not be getting any value with this hand.

Fold preflop. To turn profit with AQ you need to be the aggressor. If you find yourself calling then you should be folding.

With my shortstack, I would push all-in over the top of this continuation bet-if you're going to play shorstacked it's not acceptable to lay down TPGK, in my opinion. The whole point is to get people to get pot-committed against you by playing at you as if you had a regular stack.

I also agree that UTG+1 should have folded preflop, but I was just looking at what to do once the initial mistake is made.

if this guy calls a PF raise with AQ he has to be pretty sure about what his action is going to be if the flop comes ace high or queen high ... if he's folding in either cases then he needs to let go of the hand preflop cause you arent flopping two pair or trip queens too often
