Villain is bad. Loose and stupid. Has been calling my preflop raises with anything, sucking out on me, etc. Not a folder.

Check and potbet on the river.
This play works great against such players as you described.

Best wishes

This play works great against huge chasers? Giving them free cards?

Re: AQo

Just because he calls anything doesn't mean he never gets a hand. You say he calls anything but you don't mention how often he bets out? He just overbet the pot into the preflop raiser.

We all know there are real donks out there but a calling station all of a sudden getting aggressive generally means something. It could mean he has Ax and thinks it's a monster, who knows.

This is tough, but I think I check. Scares me that a calling station just got aggressive. Sure, you're giving him a free shot at a possible flush or a straight but I've lost way too many hands like this with TPGK, TPTK. You're angry because he's a lucky SOB and he's been sucking out.

you really think villain is going to lead the flop with a huge bet with a monster? you gotta be kidding. and calling stations becoming aggressive usually means a min raise.

Correct, but it means he's more likely to have garbage than a monster.

[/ QUOTE ]

Correct, I don't remember him betting out too often.

[ QUOTE ]

Correct.

[/ QUOTE ]

Correct, and this "something" generally means nothing if you don't know what it means in the first place.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Exactly.

The calling station got aggressive on the flop. When somebody looked him up, he slowed down and checked on a blank turn.

I'm giving him infinite odds to draw at anything. Not just a flush or a straight, 2 pair beats me here and he can have anything.

[ QUOTE ]
You're angry because he's a lucky SOB and he's been sucking out.

[/ QUOTE ]

Incorrect. I'm not angry at all. I'll be angry when I check behind and he goes all in on the river, leaving me in the dark about where the hell I stand.

I think all your reasoning here is sound and that you played it optimally on every street. Even that insouciant $69 bet rules. GJ.

Re: AQo

Hey Rabit,

I'm curious about why you think this is a mandatory push. A 1/2 pot bet seems right to me, it gives bad odds to a flush or straight draw and has a better chance of getting called then a push. I agree giving a free card here is a bad way to play the hand.
