I see "standard" used ad nauseum in these forums.

There is no "standard" in poker. "Standard" is for blackjack.

There might be no standard plays in poker, but there damn sure are some standard lines in 2+2 style poker.

However, if you're saying it's overused to show how cool the poster is, perhaps, I'm not getting into that though.

Sure there is. You may not do the same thing EVERY single time but raising preflop with poscket Aces is definitely, by definition a "standard" play. If you don't, perhaps if you're going for a limp reraise or you smooth call a previous raise in NL from the BB to try and trap it's not the "standard" play.
