ATs on Button against MP Raise
 

I messed up HH, will do it by hand.

Party Poker $5/10 (6max, 6 handed)

MP is 50/12/1

SB is 70/10/1.7

Without being results oriented, comments?

Pre-flop: Dealt to hero A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

EP folds, <font color="red">MP Raises</font>, CO folds, <font color="red">Hero 3-bets</font>, SB calls, BB folds, MP calls.

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB checks, MP checks, <font color="red">Hero bets</font>.

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB checks, MP checks, <font color="red">Hero bets</font>, <font color="red">SB raises</font>, MP folds, Hero calls.

River: 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

<font color="red">SB bets</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises</font>, SB calls.


Ridiculously standard or anything of interest? I'm hoping someone disagrees with at least one street. I'll explain my reasons for each street later. Thanks in advance.

I like it as long as you were planning to raise any river card, not just the T (except for another 4).

I would fold preflop against an opponent with a PFR of 12.

The only thing I noted about this guy is that he will fold if he misses and doesn't take AK or even smaller PPs to showdown here if I show agression. I felt I could either hit a hand and make him pay, or get him to fold a mediocre holding.

The PF raise, however, is what I felt was the most borderline situation here. Call didn't feel right, but neither did folding. I think fold/raise are both good options, with a call much less so against this opponent.

Given this and his pfr, I think coldcalling is better than reraising.

If I intend on making a play on him later if I miss, it's going to be much harder if it isn't HU.

I dunno, maybe my thinking is all wrong, it could be...

Because his VPIP is 50, that means a PFR of 12 is pretty agressive preflop. Because of this I think that 3-betting here is fine, especially since you have position.

Remember, HIP. High card strength, Initiative, Position.

Doesn't it just mean he plays a lot of hands but only raises a few?
