two questions

what is the ideal playing style? and how does it change assuming everyone at the table has no memory of any hand as the game goes on?

would you're play become tighter since aggressiveness primarily is profitable since you get paid off on good hands? also, would changing gears have no usefulness, you should play every hand the same way?

assume a typical table which cannot be described as overly tight, loose, weak, etc.

The ideal playing style in a ring game is always tight-aggressive. Each hand has a certain expectation, and the most profitable strategy is simply to take situations with positive expectation. Every play should be made to maximize your expecation, whether you're increasing it by raising, or zeroing it by folding.

Tight and aggresive is the ideal strategy. If no one at the table had any memory of any hands than you should stick to this startegy. When people do remember, is when you should mix up you strategy so you do not become predictable.

As the other posters said, tight-aggressive is always going to get the money against opponents who play straightforward, too loose, and/or too passive.

Yes, tight and aggresive is defaintley the most ideal and profitable playing style, especially at softer games where u can roll over other players

U can mix it up playing passive in very small pots or trigger yourself to go agressive anytime you raised and noone reraised.

Tight Agressive is ideal when playing against loose tables, especially loose passive. It is not an ideal style in all circumstances.That said, loose agressive or semi-loose agressive if often the ideal style against many tight passive or even tight agressive players. Another factor is the size of the blinds or antes compared to the average stack size. The greater the size of the blind, the looser one should play.

IMO, passive play is not +EV anytime.

If you can turn it on and off, playing like a maniac can be very profitable. The idea is that when the players start playing back to your X-LA style, you switch gears and tighten up. If you are good, can can clean a room out this way. Few low stakes players (my self included) have the skill and discipline to do this well.
