First live O8 session

Was at foxwoods over the weekend and decided to try my first live O8 play. Alittle background - I almost exclusively play 4 tables at a time of O8 6-max or PL online. I had heard live games are slow and boring so I always play holdem live. I got to the casino at 8PM and put my name on the list for the 1 (? how can you only have 1 ) 5/10 o8 table. The list is 15 players long . Also put my name on a holdem list.

45min later I'm playing holdem. OK will stay on the list and move when a seat opens. Check the board at 12 and have moved 4 spots. Get ready to leave at 2 and they start to call names and through the list to me. Too late I did not want to sit at that time. How can a major card room run 1 table that has a list that never moves?

Decide I will try again Sunday morning. Go down to the room at 9am and they have a list of interest of the 5/10 o8.
OK put my name in and there 6 people on the list. Go play holdem again.

11am they start a table but only 4 of the 8 people on the list show. They don't start the game till a 5th shows 20mins later. Play short with no action for an hour ( thought the game was going to break a couple of times ). When the table finally fills action livens up - foxwoods plays the 5/10 with a kill at 100.

Overall impressions - the game was better than I thought live. Table was very loose and passive ( 6-8 to the flops with 2 or 3 showing down ). Kill pots increased people to the flop which was nice. The game was not as slow as I thought it would be and I would play again live. Only complaint the showdowns took forever with allot of discussion on which hand was a winner ( spoiled by online I guess ). Also dealer made mistakes with conterfitted lows which lead to more fighting.

Overall made a couple hundred and had a good time. Will look for a live game again. Anyone know if AC or turning stone run more tables of o8?

I was just wondering what other limits of O/8 foxwoods offers. Do they regularly have 3/6 or 4/8? I do know that turning stone rarely has any omaha tables going.

The Taj in AC has 2/4 and 5/10 O8B, along with 3/6 and 10/20 mixed games (1/2 Stud 8B, 1/2 O8B). Both games tend to turn over rather slowly (the first 10 at the table often don't leave for several hours). The 5/10 also has the problem of tables breaking before they start, since many of the 5/10 regulars also like to play in the 10/20 mixed game and don't leave it when their names are called for an Omaha only table. The key is arrive early and be one of the first ten to sign up; otherwise, your wait to play O8B might be only 30 minutes, or it might be 3 hours.

I spent a week down in AC at th trop back in June and they spread only a 2/4 half kill O8 game.. but it went every nite and the wait was not long and the game was GREAT ...7 people to every flop..at showdown the fish would actually just showq theikr cards to the dealer and ask if they won... Even though it was only 2/4 I still made a decent profit after tips rake etc.

foxwoods always had a 2/4 O8 game going and usually the 5/10 with a full kill.

if the 5/10 game has a list 15 people deep, i wouldn't even want to think how many people are on a 2/4 list.
