Is wearing a mask allowed at the poker table??

We all know there are hundreds upon thousands of players who wear sunglasses at the tables to hide their tells and have the ability to mask who they are staring at.

Would the casinos condone it if a player wore a mask like Darth Vader, Richard Nixon, Grim Reaper, Homer Simpson, or even Beavis and Butthead??

Someone wore an Elmo costume w/mask during day 1 of the WSOP at the RIO. My guess would be yes.

I would hope that the answer is no due to security concerns, but you never know...

They don't mind, if you don't mind being greased by about 10 security guards.

I was surprised to hear they let the Elmo head stay on this year. I dont know for sure just how long they left it go though. Last year a guy tried to wear a Mardi Gras mask and I made him take it off. For obvious reasons a person should not be allowed to wear a mask in a casino that hides his face.

Was it hide the face more significantly than a pair of sunglasses?

How about a Lone Ranger mask? That only covers up the around the eye area.

What if the Lone Ranger himself wanted to play? He couldn't be expected to take his mask off now, could he?

My bank now has a sign up requesting removal of sunglasses, caps and hoods....anything that might obscure the face....for security reasons.

Since casinos have the same security concerns as banks (except the big places probably have more actual cash floating around) I would think that masks would be a problem anywhere in the casino, not just the poker room.

On Halloween....might be difficult to enforce. Probably security's least favorite holiday.
