Re: My book library

Read getting started in holdem FIRST before any of the limit stuff. Then read SSH over and over and over. Then read TOP. and then Read SSH again...then dabble in some of the other books.

Bump the HOH's and tpfap to the top of your list for NL. Skip anything by cloutier and Mcevoy.

Finally, the key to play winning poker is learning the conepts in and out in a few good sources. Not reading through as many books as possible.

I'd suggest moving ITPM nearer to the end of your list. Readers typically seem to like it more when it comes later in their poker education.

Thanks for the input, how far down the list do you think I should move it? I changed it to right after Weighing the Odds in Hold'em Poker. I think by then I will have read a lot of strategic information and ITPM will really help in incorporating that information in my play as well as tie up more loose ends in my game.

Also, it isn't like I am only going to be reading most of these books once. I will be taking books I read earlier and re-read whenever I feel the need. Plus going back to books to read specific parts, etc... I just like making guides for how my poker progression will ensue. Thanks.

Hi Apaugust,

I'm sure Mr. Feeney will have a better answer, but I got the most out of Inside the Poker Mind when I started thinking I was better than I really was. The book explained my mistakes and humbled me. This is the only book that I continuously go back to. Good luck.

Well then, where I decided to put it looks like a good place. I will have learned a great deal about the game and will probably be thinking that I am getting really good. A little humbling is always nice.

In that case the spot where you've moved it to should be okay. I think many players get more out of it on the second reading, especially if that reading comes a good year or so after the first. Good luck,
