Yeah that 0-2 lifetime against ATL with a 6+ ERA makes me want to lay wood on the road against a good team. Am I the only one that thinks betting the Cubs as a favorite in this road game is just wrong?

True. Prior can dominate but... but the Cubs are in a major funk right now and on a big losing streak. Their offense is anemic at best and without D. Lee may just turn out to be non-existant. I see better chances than the Cubs on the road, Prior or not.

MR B, I thought you didn't buy into current streaks because they can reverse anytime without warning?

Streaks? Current form Current form is worth looking at! Cubs current form is poor while Braves is good. I will admit Priors current form is good too. But the loss of Lee hurts the Cubs a lot. They are weak enough offensively with him.

I wouldn't bet on (or against) any streak. I will however always factor in current form and let that help me make a decision. My favorite current form factors are starting whip over last 3 starts and rpg for last 10 games. Prior does have much better whip over last 3 but over last 10 Cubs at 2.81 rpg to Braves 5.42. Then subtract Lee and it looks real ugly. But those are just a few of the things I factor in.

No mention thatRamirez has been awful. My concern is that The Lizard will pull Prior after 6 innings. I'm on The Cubs. I actually like Oakland too.

Re: Prior -108 ?

Yeah Ramierez is nothing special, except he's at home and on a better team with a better offense and like you assume Dusty may pull Prior no matter what if the pitch count gets too high. Despite a few good outings the guy still has a cracked elbow.

Betting Prior probably fair at this price but I didn't see any real edge.

Cubs offense v Ramirez or ATL offense v Prior. Crunch the numbers

I'd rather watch 100 year old Franco crunch the homers. Don't get so defensive about your picks. Mr B is a baseball god.
