How far can you go with the book Getting Started in Hold em?

Let's say you have read getting started in hold em. You understand the basics of limit hold em. Do not call raises with K-J. You will be dominated. Flush draws are 4 to 1 odds. Open ended straight draws are 5 to 1 odds. Gutshots are 10.5 to 1 odds. Play very tight in early position. Play suited connectors and small pairs in unraised pots, in late position with a lot of limpers. Raise with your good hands such as J-J and 10-10 etc. You understand the basics but not a lot of the fancy stuff in Small Stakes Hold em. How far can you go with GSIH? Break even? Beat 2-4? Beat 4-8? Beat 20-40? Beat 1000-2000?

I think GSIH teaches the fundamentals very well, but simply applying concepts doesn't really merit whether or not you beat a certain level. Experience is key.

Basically, if you learn the concepts in GSIH very well and play a lot of hands, you can beat online 2/4 semi-easily.
