Where can I get a free credit report?
 

Anyone know a bonafide free-credit report site? Web searches turn up a bunch, but I don't know if they are legit, or if they spoof you for your info.

www.annualcreditreport.com - this is the free site that the govt. made the credit card compnies set up so people could get a free report from the three main credit agencies every year. All the other sites will eventually charge you this is the one to use.

This is true. You can also call 1-877-322-8228.
You can get one free report each year from each of the 3 major reporting agencies (transunion, experian, and equifax).

One trick I heard about is to get one free report per year from each agency, spaced out over 4 months each. So, you get your trasnunion report in Jan. and then your Equifax report in April...

But they're not always the same, so it might be better to just get them all at once (that's what I do).

Dammit, I got mine but they want me to pay to get my credit score. THATS WHAT I WANTED THE WHOLE TIME FUCKERS!

It's worth the $5 per site. You'll pay $15 per site to get it (report + score) from myFico.com.


Edit - peep this tho.

The day before I went to the car dealership two weeks ago I pulled all 3 from myFico. TransUnion was 688. When I went to the dealership that same day they pulled TU and my score was 709 qualifying me for the 2nd best loan rate Toyota offers.

And Providians cheesy TU system shows a 671.

No clue why there's such a large difference in numbers when all 3 of the places are using TU.
