Anyone move up from 1/2 to 3/6 6max at PP?

I was wondering how much tougher the games were. I ran pokeredge on some tables and it looks like the vpip's were lower, the pfr were higher and the agression factor was much higher. Just wanted to hear some real life experiences on what to expect before taking the plunge.

I graduated from 1/2 short to 2/4 full a while back, and have been mostly playing the 3/6 and 5/10 full games lately... but when I saw that the 3/6 short games were available I immediately thought about returning to shorthanded play "full time." I'm going to get into these games for a few days and see, then report back -- thoughts/advice from others much appreciated.

I played one day at 3/6 6max to try it out. ( I was experimenting with a new strategy of being a LAG 45/30/4 )

The main difference I saw from when I played 1/2 was that 3/6 is just a whole heck of a lot more aggressive. The players are just as loose and just as bad, but there are more lags to deal with. You can probably beat it for the same if not more than 1/2 IMO.

I messed around on 3/6 6-max last night and it seems very profitable. I found a few juicy tables with lots of LAGs. There seems to be at least one maniac type and one way-too-tight player at every table. I sat to the left of the maniac, and to the right of the tight players and had a pretty good session.

Yes, I was wondering if the favorable rake compared to 1/2 could warrant a better BB/100. The opponents are just slightly better IMO.

I've played a few thousands hands already and the only reason I notice the difference between the 1/2 and 3/6 is the $5 chips are red. Seriously.

But I'm anal about table selection.

I made the jump 1/2 - 3/6 as well. Although there are still alot of bad players on 3/6, I think u need better table selection here.

I'll chime in that 3/6 is way tougher. I'm normally a 3/6 full player, but I've played several thousand hands at 1/2 6-max to clear bonuses. Even without SH experience, I crushed them.

I've tried the 3/6 6-max tables and have been absolutely smeared into the ground. It's much harder. People seem to be more aggressive overall and better about pushing edges post flop.

A couple thousand hands is nothing. I crushed 5/10 sh for 3000 hands before it finally fought back. I really think 3/6 is almost the same as 1/2 skill wise, which is not much different than 5/10.

3/6 SH is very soft, so many bad players.
