hand 1: i hate his flop 3-bet, your cap, and his river bet. he should be check calling the river. the single hand you could have that he beats is A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9:spade.

hand 2: obviously your limp is terrible, as is your call of the raise and 3-bet. beyond that neither of you did anything wrong, really. you wouldn't raise the flop with a jack, and if he thought he could blow you off a 5 with a flop 3-bet and turn lead, then good play by him.

Looking at the way he played hand1 i would be calling hand 2 down. He could easily have any two overcards inhand2.

Against your average player i fold but a 2+2er vs a 2+2er the flop 3bet means nothing imo

If Ollie is ahead on the turn, his opponent has 6 clean outs. A raise on the turn would've been much better than a call-down, as it gives you good folding equity, and no sane player is 3-betting the turn with a worse hand. Perfect spot for the 'free showdown' play.

FWIW, I made the exact same play as Yeuts the other day with A6 HU on a paired board. I took it down on the turn just the same, but I'm not really sure if it's a good line against a typical 1/2 player.
