Well, think like this: what could he possible have that you are a favourite against? At best case, its a coinflip, and at worst case you are a 4-to-1 underdog.

Easy fold. Or if you are a shortstack and getting desperate, a push here would not be to bad either.

I would fold this pre-flop more often than not. I would only limp if I was pretty confident that I could see a flop without facing a raise (meaning lots of hands have limpers). Early in an MTT you can limp early with hands like this and call a modest raise because the stacks are deep and you have odds to hit your set. But that doesn't apply at this stage with your stack.

You're only real option is to fold this. You can't just call and play for a set. You're fairly way behind against his range of hands so pushing (or a stop and go) doesn't seem right.

I think it depends on the stakes people are playing for and whether the players respect them. If they do...

I push.

Hero is short stacked and cannot pass on an opportunity as good as 88.
the other limpers can't call the second raiser when they limped the first time.
Your probably a dog in the hand, 60:40 but there is now 500 in the pot.

Man I dont like this limp. At this stage when stacks are a little shallow I'm bringing this in for a raise. The blinds are valuabe and you wont have a multiway pot enough. I like to limp when I will be able to call the standard 3-5xbb raise from another player and it will be for less than 10% of my stack. Raising and folding to a reraise, or calling the reraise, are both better off in my book.

He's not actually that short stacked, he has more than 15 times the BB left. This is an easy fold especially considering your read on the player. Wait for a better spot, let the blinds pass you at the expense of t75 and then get busy when it is folded to you and you are sitting in late position
