I've played in 8 and haven't won one. I've made the final table once, heads up in the first round another time, and busted out third in the prelims once. 4 of the times I bought in directly. I also won seats in 4 of 8 times I played in the $5 rebuy subsupersatellite.

Hit it on my 5th try, 2 rebuy entry, 3 direct buyins.

no exact idea, but I think 11-16 is close to correct for me.

Honest to god, won it on my first try (the day of the Kentucky Derby)

$5.50 turbo rebuy satellite to it in the morning, unregistered it and played it that night..

It was the 6th one I entered.

but while I was waiting for the final table to start I entered another one and quickly busted out.

So my answer is either 6 or 7.

The one that I won it on was my first (and only) final-table.
I kept getting AA cracked by J5s and other such disasters in my previous DS opening tables.

I was super short-stack on the final table too. About $260 with 7 players left I believe. Couple of double-ups in there and I was back in it.
One or two more and I was chip-leader.
It was pretty crazy.
