Where to stay for Shreveport Poker Binge?

I'm headed to shreveport with some friends prolly 2-3 night stay. They wanna gamble a bit and play a good bit of poker. I kinda wanted to stay at the horseshoe cause they have cheap rooms and a good poker room, but fri/sat nights of that weekend they are booked. Hollywood is really expensive (like $190) and Isle of Capri isn't too bad. Anyone wanna rate the poker rooms at these places or others? And how close are they too eachother if I were to stay at one and gamble at another? I wanna show the visitors a good time so I'd like to look somewhat knowledgeable about where we should stay and where we should gamble.

The only two poker rooms are Hollywood and Horseshoe. Hollywood has recently renovated its room and its much nicer than what you will find in searched posts. They still do not have automatic shufflers at Hollywood, but they have a larger room with more games. I reccommend playing there, but I play at both on a regular basis. As far as rooms, it really doesn't matter where you stay because everything is so close.

well I was just thinking if the bunch of us were tipsy at the horseshoe at 3am it might be a pain to find our way back to hollwood or vice versa. Hollywood sounds perfect if their rooms weren't twice as much as most every other casino there.

Sams Town is right next to Hollywood so that could be an option for you. It's an easy walk between these two hotels. The hotel rooms at Sams Town are very nice. These are the only two casinos that I would consider "walkable" between each other. The others are much more spread out.

The Hollywood poker room has definately came along way from where it once was. But for some reason I still slightly prefer the Horseshoe.
