Classic Great Movies

If there's a good movie that's from 15+ years ago, I doubt I've seen it.

Ones on my Netflix queue that I haven't seen:

Dr. Strangelove
Scarface
Full Metal Jacket
The Shining
A Clockwork Orange
2001: Space Oddyssey

What other movies that I might not have seen that I should?

Sucking Kubrick's Dick is a good one.

EDIT: Midnight Run, with De Niro/Grodin, is very funny. Get it. ~1988 or so.

lol, those were all movies in the "you might like these" section and I had heard of them being good so I decided to add them.

Your question is way to open-ended. What kind of genres do you like? Tell us a few of your favorite movies and maybe it will be easier to make suggestions.

I'm pretty open minded. The only movies I detest are ones like Fast and Furious or something equally stupid.

Edit- the type of movie I'm looking for could be classified as a "must see"

On the Waterfront is easily my favorite "classic" movie and maybe Brando's best performance. See Casablanca as well.

Re: Classic Great Movies

Fair enough. I'll give you a couple of my favorites in several categories. Some of these may not be considered "classics" by the critics but oh well...

Science Fiction:
2001: A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner
West World

Western:
Rio Bravo
The Outlaw Josey Wales
High Plains Drifter

Drama:
Casablanca
Amadeus
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (you could categorize this as Sci Fi as well)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Comedy:
The Jerk
Annie Hall (some people don't find Woody Allen funny but I love his movies
Tootsie

War Movies:
The Deerhunter
Patton
Glory
The Bridge on the River Kwai

Film Noir/Thriller:
The Maltese Falcon
Touch of Evil
Chinatown

Have fun!

Swede
