Great movie shots
 

Watching The Shining. After Jack is locked in the freezer by his wife, Kubrick shoots him from the ground up as he's pounding on the door, begging his wife to let him out. An amazing shot (complimented by Jack's great acting), that does a great job displaying Jack's character's insanity.

Opening shot of Boogie Nights. Certainly not the best shot ever but I enjoy it.

When I think of The Shining, I think of the kid rolling around the floor on his big wheel. The shot is so low, his perspective, and the halls of the hotel look absolutely terrifying.

I was going to mention this same exact thing, but specifically when he comes around the corner and the two little girls are standing there.

Bingo. Kubrik's other most chilling scene in cinema was in Clockwork Orange when Alex's head is stuck under water fo what seems like an eternity. I have had nightmares about that scene, lets face it the man is a genious film maker.

alot of the shots taken from the evil dead.

for such a low budget movie, they made the most out of it by creative, suspsenseful shots.

the scene where bruce campbell steps down in the basement, and then the camera does a 360 comes in mind, definitely.

The shark thrashing and tearing the cage up in "Jaws".

It was a real shark, who accidentally got tangled up in the rigging while an underwater photographer was getting shots of sharks swimming by the cage. Totally lucky to get the shot--absolutely terrifying to watch.

(I listened E's True Hollywood Story on the film last night on Sirius during a long drive.)
