88 hand - spewage or strong?

I get so lost in hands like this against unknowns, sometimes I think the idea of 3-betting and folding to a 4-bet must be spewage and other times I think that I should bet the river for value and I overuse free showdown raises.

Why do this against a player you don't understand or control? That's a pretty good working definition of literally not knowing what you are doing. No wonder you feel lost.

Just call down the checkraise.
