WSOP 2nd chance tournaments

Has anyone played in these yet? How does it work, can you only play it once per event you're registered for?

225 buy in. T1000 to start. 25-25 blinds, second level 25-50. Blinds double from there on. 20 minute round. Crap shoot begins at 1-200 level, slows down until the 3-600 leel speeds up until clos to the money. Slows down until in the money (they pay a little less than 10%). The one that I played paid 16k for first. 18th paid $489 . Lasted from 11 pm to 5 a.m. next morning. I was there from start to finish.

If I only play 1 WSOP event, how many times can I play the 2nd chance? I plan on playing event 22 (1500 NL hold'em), and some satellites. So does that mean I could only play this 2nd chance once?

Vince - how many people played in the one you were in?

You can play as many as you want. However, unless you're a huge fan of 11pm tournies with 20 minute rounds, why not play the Bellagio $540 at 2pm or the Palms $230 at 7pm? I think I'm going to check the Palms tournament out tonight and will post structure information on it when I find out about it.

Not to hi-jack the thread here, but I HIGHLY recommend the Palms' PM tournies. Very well organized, good level of competition, and very solid blind structures. It was not a crapshoot, but a real tournament. Only complaint I had was that I finished 20th, when payouts began at 18 when my A, Q ran into the dreaded 7, 8 suited (runner, runner made a straight and ended my nice run). Scott Fishman played in the tourney that night as well and finished in the late 30s or early 40s, I believe. By the time I went out, I had played almost 5 1/2 hours, with a total of 124 entries in the tourney. Great time! I'd play it again RIGHT NOW.
Good Luck,
Les

The Palms is a single rebuy tourney? Can you get the rebuy at anytime?

there were 250 in the one I played in. Three hundred the next night.

You can play as many as you like.

Vince,
must have been friday night/ saturday morning. I played in that one and finished 17th or 18th. Which table were you at from the last two?

I played in 3 of them and definitely did not like the structure. There were 303 entrants and they paid 18. We were down to the final 36. The average stack was 8400, the median stack just over 6000, and the blinds at 400/800 with a 100 ante. So pretty much everyone was shortstacked.

I had over 10,000 and was in the top 12 or so and lost 3/4 of my stack when a shortstack (who actually was at the median) pushed with 33 and beat my AA by hitting the case 3 (one was already dead).

It really is a horrible structure. They either need to increase the time of the levels or at least pay more tables. It's a crapshoot well before it even gets to the bubble.

I'm not sure what number it was. I was in a yellow short sleeve shirt. I was at the second table. The one furthest from the satellite area. You?
