N9NE Steak House at the Palms serves the best filet I've ever had in Vegas.

Prime at the Bellagio is also among the very best.

You should expect to easily spend over $100 per person at either of these places.

Delmonico's in the Venetian is the best, IMO.

I'd also recommend Morton's (about a mile east of the strip, on the NE corner of Flamingo and Paradise.)

The tourists probably won't want to drive this far, but there's an excellent steakhouse in the NW part of town called Bob Taylor's Ranch House.

Another one that I would recommend is Austin's in the Texas Station.

I 2nd the N9NE for great steak and the best all around scene if you like steakhouse meets nightclub. It always my first dinner in any Vegas trip.

I've never been, but cheapovegas raves about "the steakhouse" at circus circus.

I haven't been there in several years, but it used to be a great steak house. Of course, the downside is that you had to walk into Circus Circus to get to it.

I want to second the thought on the steakhouse in Circus Circus. I went there a couple of years ago on a recommendation from a friend who does a lot of business in LV with the visitors and travelers bureau. Also read a review calling it one of LV's pleasant unexpected surprises...and it was.

I also like the steakhouse on the top floor of Binion's downtown. (The concierge at the Bellagio suggested to me when I was there last month that it was the only decent place to eat downtown.)

I have never been to N9ne in LV, but worked across from the one in Chicago for over a year. That place struck me as trendier than a steak house, but I am sure the steaks there are quite good.

Of course, it seems like many of the national chains are well represented including the previously mentioned Morton's, as well as Ruth's Chris and Smith and Wolensky. All of them quite dependable for an excellent steak as well, but my preferences always tends towards local flavors as opposed to the places that are available in Chicago (or most other large cities, for that matter.)

Bottom line, these days, there are a lot of good/great steakhouses to choose from.
