I will now raise disconnect you

Amusing play I saw tonight. Someone raised someone on turn hoping they would disconnect. This person had been disconnecting a lot. But amusing play.

Presumably to win the pot.

The original bettor was the person dc'ing and the raiser was hoping they would dc. This site has no all in protection.

Not that this matters. If he has been disconnecting a lot his DP is almost certainly gone.

I think OP means he was actually losing his connection unintentionally.

Wouldn't a call be enough then?

It would depend on the site, I think.

If you are disconnected you cannot call. After 30 seconds (or whatever time limit is used at that site), the raiser would win the pot automatically.

Or looking at it from the other way -- if the raiser would have called that would not work, because you need to put the timer back on the guy you want to disconnect, calling will just lead to the showdown (if it is on the river).
