Does anyone play these? How beatable are they? How long does it take to get enough people together to play one? Thanks!

If they're anything like the Greektown ones, the words "rip-off" and "crapshoot" quickly come to mind.

At Greektown the blinds go up every orbit . So when it's 3 handed or even HU the blinds are going up everytime the button comes back around. I don't think they have them at Greektown anymore, but I played in them twice and I got 1st once and 5th the second time. I only got 1st by being lucky because the quickly escalating blinds caused me to move all in everyhand with K7o, Q8o, etc. And then my opponents were calling me (correctly) with T7o, J2o and so on.

I think the Motorcity tournies are the same thing.

Greektown stopped them 2 months ago. The tables are now occupied by the ever popular 1/2 100max NL games.

The 50min-100max NL (1/2 blinds) has a $6/half hour time charge. It's ludicrous, but the game is so fish-tastic that it's still beatable if you're even remotely decent at NL ring games (I might be, but I'm also still to nervous to be comfortable playing it regularly).

It's slowly becoming the most popular game at Greektown.
