Lost my stack with AA - comments?

Hi,

I think I played this hand reasonably well, but since I only recently stepped up from a lower buy-in table, I'd like others' comments. Thanks!

2-4 No limit, $300 buy-in at Foxwoods. I've been playing for about 40 minutes, have about $305. In LP, I'm dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Player two to my right (who has made a number of PF raises to 2 or 25 in the time I've been there) bumps it to 25. I reraise to 60. All fold, original raiser calls.

Flop:
4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

He checks, I bet $100, he check raises to put me all in for another $145. I decide my pot odds exceed the probability that he has a set and call.

He flips over:
A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

The turn comes:
8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

and the river:
2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

and I lose to the gutshot flush.

Any comments on how I played the hand?

He figured his TPTK to be good and was getting all his money in one way or the other. This is a pretty standard bad-beat. I hope you didn't leave the table.

Hand plays itself.

It could just easily have been you who backdoored a 4-flush.

Gutshot flushes are the worst!

I wish I could have stayed. I had the cash with me for another buy-in, but I felt a little too on tilt to stick it out. I guess I need to work on that.

Is it called a "gutshot flush" because it feels like you were shot in the gut when it happens?

Raise to 80 preflop

I agree with reraising more preflop.

if you are going to be pot committed with your AA, then you should make it more preflop so that a flop push is about a pot sized bet.
