How did i play these omaha hi low hands preflop..?

Hi guys,
just wondering if you could comment on the following hands i played the other day.
1) EP - 9J10K three diamonds : I muck
2) EP - K10JJ single suited to K: I limp
3) MP limps - I limp with A3710 two diamonds to the 7
Question? Is A3 offsuit playable from any position.. why?
4) AKQJ three diamonds folded to a preflop raise
5) UTG limps, button raises i call in SB with A344 single suited to the 4.
6) 2346 mucked to a preflop raise
7) A6KK mucked on the button after several limpers single suited to the ace.
8) 23QJ single suited to the Q mucked in Sb after several limpers.
9) muck 9JQQ single suited to Q
10) EP muck AAJJ rainbow
11) Muck A38Q rainbow after 1-2 limpers in MP

12) A23K three hearts to the King I limp after two limpers
Flop KQ5 two hearts.
EP bets Mp folds i call, BB calls.
turn is the 4 of hearts. BB checks, EP bets i call.
BB calls. River is 10h BB checks, EP bets i call and lose to ace high flush. How did i play this hand??

Again thanks for all the good discussions and hand analysis done on this forum. Greatly appreciate.

from your post im guessing you play weak tight. you pride yourself in making good folds. nothing wrong with making good folds, thats the game. but you dont ever raise or play aggressively. in hand 12., you had a monster to start and never played your hand.

Re: How did i play these omaha hi low hands preflop..?

1) EP - 9J10K three diamonds : I muck - CORRECT-FOLD
2) EP - K10JJ single suited to K: I limp - I WOULD FOLD, BUT NOT HORRENDOUS PLAY
3) MP limps - I limp with A3710 two diamonds to the 7
Question? Is A3 offsuit playable from any position.. why?
DEPENDS ON THE GAME... LOTS OF RAISES GENERALLY PREFLOP FOLD, PASSIVE GAME PLAY IT...

4) AKQJ three diamonds folded to a preflop raise
BIG BLIND? USUALLY WOULD FOLD THIS REGARDLESS

5) UTG limps, button raises i call in SB with A344 single suited to the 4. DEPENDS OF STRENGTH OF OPPONENTS.. In SB I WOULD FOLD, BB IS QUESTIONABLE
6) 2346 mucked to a preflop raise CORRECT PLAY
7) A6KK mucked on the button after several limpers single suited to the ace. CORRECT PLAY (MAYBE OCCASIONALY)
8) 23QJ single suited to the Q mucked in Sb after several limpers. INCORRECT- I WOULD PLAY THIS NO QUESTION IN Sb
9) muck 9JQQ single suited to Q CORRECT
10) EP muck AAJJ rainbow CORRECT
11) Muck A38Q rainbow after 1-2 limpers in MP THIS MAY BE PLAYABLE DEPENDING ON TYPE OF GAME

CORRECTLY, YOU MAY WANT TO RAISE PREFLOP WITH THIS HAND THOUGH. STUFF LIKE THAT HAPPENS

Re: How did i play these omaha hi low hands preflop..?

Everything depends upon the type of game - if it's tight and only two or three players are seeing most flops then your hand requirements obviously go up. But if there's a lot of unraised, multiway pots then you are giving up value by folding the better high-oriented hands, especially in late position.

3) MP limps - I limp with A3710 two diamonds to the 7
Question? Is A3 offsuit playable from any position.. why?

I hate this kind of hand. I will only play it if a) there are likely to be a lot of preflop callers without a raise and b) this is the type of game where people will chase you with non-nut low draws if you flop a deuce and another low card.

5) UTG limps, button raises i call in SB with A344 single suited to the 4.

I would probably fold here. Your hand may be dominated and the pot is small.

7) A6KK mucked on the button after several limpers single suited to the ace.

I would probably play this hand on the button for a single bet, looking to flop a set or the nut flush draw. You can get away from this hand easily if you miss the flop and you are in prime position to get paid if you hit.

8) 23QJ single suited to the Q mucked in Sb after several limpers.

I would definitely play this hand for a half bet. Just be wary about gettting away from the hand if you only flop the flush draw.

9) muck 9JQQ single suited to Q

I don't know the context. I would muck UTG or in a tight game and would call a single bet in late position after several limpers in a loose game.

Re: How did i play these omaha hi low hands preflop..?

I guess that I am not one of the tight passive players, so I will disagree with some of the replies to your question. My loose aggressive style results in more swings but also puts me in more +EV situations with good flops. The key is letting go of hands where the flop misses me. Hands like #12 are clearly raises for me. Once there is a raise. Win some, loose some.

Another part of my game is knowing the players. Many raises in O/8 are by maniacs where I will have the better of it with some of the hands that others recommend a fold - see hand 5 where the button might be trying to isolate the EP limper - he might even have a hand like #7 which would play very well heads up.

Lastly, I also like hands like 8, 9 and 10 because of their scoop possibilities. Scooping is what makes O/8 a profitable game. Players who only play lows will not do as well in the long run as players who are willing to play high hands - IMHO.

1) EP - 9J10K three diamonds : I muck

Muck

2) EP - K10JJ single suited to K: I limp

OK

3) MP limps - I limp with A3710 two diamonds to the 7
Question? Is A3 offsuit playable from any position.. why?

Like others have said, if the game is passive. I wouldn't want to have to call a raise with this unless I was suited to the Ace. I would also prefer loose passive with good volume on this hand.

4) AKQJ three diamonds folded to a preflop raise

OK

5) UTG limps, button raises i call in SB with A344 single suited to the 4.

OK

6) 2346 mucked to a preflop raise

What position? How many limpers? Any suits? Not enough information here. How loose is the game? What position raised?

7) A6KK mucked on the button after several limpers single suited to the ace.

In a loose game with several limpers I would play this hand. In some scenarios in a loose game with several limpers on the button or cut-off I might pop it. But it is worth much less in a tight game, in which case I would be inclined to fold it.

8) 23QJ single suited to the Q mucked in Sb after several limpers.

I would play here, I would even call a raise if I was in the Big Blind.

9) muck 9JQQ single suited to Q

OK, unless I can see the flop for one bet with several limpers in very late position, against loose players.

10) EP muck AAJJ rainbow

I might pop it here if I think I can thin the field.

11) Muck A38Q rainbow after 1-2 limpers in MP

OK

12) A23K three hearts to the King I limp after two limpers
Flop KQ5 two hearts.

Raise.

EP bets Mp folds i call, BB calls.
turn is the 4 of hearts. BB checks, EP bets i call.
BB calls. River is 10h BB checks, EP bets i call and lose to ace high flush. How did i play this hand??

You probably just have to pay him off here. I might pop the turn here if the EP is the type who would bet with less than the nuts, you have 2nd nut flush and a nut low draw, otherwise just check and call.
