McEnroe vs. Frylock

1. Early on, Hellmuth flops a straight flush draw and checks the flop on the button. He allows Esfandiari to spike a jack to take the lead (no way would he have called a flop bet), and then has to bluff at it all the way. Seems like an awful flop check.

2. Hellmuth fails to raise preflop with KQ from the SBB, and then lets Esfandiari push him off the best hand with nothing. Then shows it. Huh?

3. Hellmuth preflop raise J2d, Esfandiari calls with KQs. Flop comes two diamonds, ace high. Hellmuth bets and Esfandiari CALLS with KQs, no draw. They check it down and Esfandiari wins with K-high. Hellmuth calls him "son," and yaps about being a 3:1 dog. What was the point of Esfandiari's call on the flop if he never intended to take a stab at the pot? Was it a value-call with what he thought was the best hand? Please. I'm kidding.

4. Hellmuth flops 2 pair with J3, then never gets a bet into the middle with a really safe looking board. Check, check...check. Huh?

5. "Stop playing with your face in the Jumbotron." Excellent.

"You were the guy I was most afraid of."

Classic.

Esfandiari's stylist appears to have been going for that "in disguise" look.

Either that, or he really IS Frylock, and if you turn him around, he has a large gem stuck into the middle of his back.
