Casinos in South Florida

I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this question. If not, I am sorry. I am moving to South Florida in August and I want to get an idea if there are any casinos down in that area that have live poker rooms. Thanks for any info!
Matt

I live in Southwest Florida and there are some Casinos. There are Seminole Indian Casinos in Tampa and Imokalee, the one in tapma is a HardRock casino and hotel. There is a Grayhound Track in Bonita Springs.
Cash games suck in florida, there is a $2 maximum raise law, and i'm not sure on this next one but i believe pots can't excede $10. so if you want to play live your going to have to play tournies that charge a large juice.

Bets can't exceed $10, not pots.

Wrong, I know for sure the Bets cant exceede $2 is a fact, thats why the highest limit you can play is 1/2. The other law regarding the $10 pots, is whats known as a "penny ante game" where pots are not allowed to exceede $10 but this many just be for home games and not businesses.

Re: Casinos in South Florida

"Penny-ante game" means a game or series of games of poker, pinochle, bridge, rummy, canasta, hearts, dominoes, or mah-jongg in which the winnings of any player in a single round, hand, or game do not exceed $10 in value. However this only takes affect in what is known as a dwelling

Dwelling" means residential premises owned or rented by a participant in a penny-ante game and occupied by such participant or the common elements or common areas of a condominium, cooperative, residential subdivision, or mobile home park of which a participant in a penny-ante game is a unit owner, or the facilities of an organization which is tax exempt under s. 501(c)(7) of the Internal Revenue Code. The term "dwelling" also includes a college dormitory room or the common recreational area of a college dormitory or a publicly owned community center owned by a municipality or county.

Straight from the Florida law book, this doesn't pertain to businesses but the $2 maximum bet does.

Another Law straight from the books

(1) Florida authorized licensed card rooms to offer poker limits of $2 per bet, with a limit of 3 raises per betting round, effective July 1, 2003.

Here's an idea! How about someone who knows something about Florida gambling?!?!

$2 hold'em is all that can be legally played. Str8 2 or 1/2.

No pot limits.

Card room in Coral Springs called the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino (guess it's in Coconut Creek.)

Hollywood Greyhounds. Palm Beach Kennel Club. Dania Jai alai may have it.

If you want bigger better stakes, you've got to get on a boat and cruise.

No casino games either on land. Just poker and slots.
