two free play in the BB hands

Both of these hands occurred in a Party $100+9 NLHE single table tournament.

Hand 1

Button 4000
SB 2700
Hero (BB) 3300

Blinds 100/200

Hero holds Ad8d

Button calls, SB fold, hero checks

Flop Td 9d 6h.

My plan here was to check raise all-in. My plan was foiled when the button went all-in (3000 bet into 500 pot). Anyone call here with 12, possibly 15 outs?

Hand 2:

UTG 3000
CO 2500
Button 1400
SB 2000
Hero (BB) 1100

Blinds 100/200

Hero holds 9c8d

UTG calls, CO fold, button folds, SB calls, hero checks

Flop Ad 9s 3h

SB checks, Hero moves all-in (900 into 600 pot).

My thinking was that I am getting short stacked, I have a reasonable chance of having the best hand and I do not want to give any free cards. Thoughts?

hand 1

Hand 1:

It's a close call. Very hard to estimate number of outs, since he could have any kind of draws, sets, two pairs or whatever. Your average (and most likely, I think) number of outs could be around 13-14, giving you a nice 50% winning chance. Guess it depends on your risk aversion .

For what it's worth, I would have done the same.

Re: two free play in the BB hands

I don't play the 109s, so do what you want with my advice:

1) I was going to say that I pushed this preflop, but then I saw the blinds are still pretty small. I still probably would, but that'd depend on how this person was playing (if he hadn't limped before, I probably wouldn't). Assuming that I just checked, I wouldn't call this. Why risk it when the blinds are low and you've got a big stack. Fold it and wait for a better spot.

2) I'm not sure what I do. At the 33s I'm worried about UTG limping with A3 or A6 or what have you, because they like to do that.

I was worried about this also. I did not expect to win with 100% certainty. Limpers also have hands like 77 KJs etc. The question is how often will the opponent not hold an ace.

I'll post results later after more discussion.
