Set problem...

The main villian in this hand (UTG+2) is a fairly tight player:

24.44% VP$IP, PF Raise % = 2.22.

However it's only 44 hands worth of data. He also seems to underbet a lot.

It appears the other player (UTG+1) calling is a chaser, but short-stacked.

What would you do after the following sequence?

All comments appreciated.

Re: Set problem...

Ack, this is a gross spot to be in.

1. Bet the flop with bottom set.
2. I think you can put UTG+1 on some sort of drawing hand, considering his style from your previous observations and his cold call.
3. Would UTG+2 limp TT? Is he a TAP in general?

Overall, I have a hard time raising in this spot. You certainly don't want to fold, and calling doesn't seem like the best thing either, but I think it is best. Try to get to showdown cheap on the river. If a diamond or a 5 hits and you see action from UTG+1, you have an easy fold.

Hope it worked out.

I'd be much more concerned with a 7 or 2 than a 5. Why did you check the flop last to act? Betting there isn't giving your hand away at all, and it builds the pot if anyone calls.

I reraise to $200 straight.

i cant fathom the check on the flop in a 4 way pot. i'd rather bet out and take a small pot here than give a free card that builds the pot for someone else.

call. then dump it on the river if you dont fill up. i feel like this is a math problem. he basically is giving you pot odds if you are behind, and i dont see him betting huge on ther river. there is a bit of money in the pot, and its three way. i dont see UTG folding, so...put that money in there. reraising will just get you reraised again..i think

Hmmm, I didnt see it was still a 3 way pot here. That changes things quite a bit.

I think going into calldown mode is best.

He could be on fool's-AA or 33, but beyond that I don't see what you beat. Still, the pot odds he's laying you can't be beat.
