Was this a good push?

I apologize in advance if the answer to this seems really obvious, but I just started playing the $11 SNGs on party. The villian in this hand had been fairly agressive before the bubble.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (4 handed) converter

UTG (t1085)
Button (t2180)
SB (t2760)
Hero (t1975)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Seemed like a pretty clear decision to me. With AQ there's only 4 hands that I'm really afraid to see here (AA-QQ and AK). If villian has a small pocket pair then it's a coin flip, if not I'll probably have him dominated.

I like it too...you might even want to add maybe %5 fold equity if he was on a total bluff...of course if he's smart he calls with just about everything...but I think 5-10% FE is reasonable here.

You are not guaranteed ITM yet so plays like this are necessary as you cannot lay back here and let smallstack blind away. he'll double up/catch up and you will have missed your opportunites. I

Yeah, push here. Villain is SB making a weak raise, you have AQ, the small stack is 5x BB.

Thanks for the quick responses. It's nice to know that my instincts are right at least some of the time

Anyways, Villian called with pocket dueces, no help for me and I was out on the bubble again.
