Raise and fold pre-flop

MP2 is 14/9/4 -- very strong over 800 hands
SB is 11/9/1 -- solid and tight over 100 hands

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

I like it...the same principle as not calling 2 cold PF w/AJs. The hand is just marginal enough to get away from before you spend more money.

Re: Raise and fold pre-flop

You're getting 6:1 immediate odds, and most likely end up at 7:1 with 3 opponents.

Without MP3 in there I'd be willing to fold, but with him along I think we have enough overlay to look at the flop.

Re: Raise and fold pre-flop

I agree with the above, you can release if an ace hits and theres lots of action. You have good implied odds for a flush or two pair. Although they are diminished by the amount you are paying, your opponents will not likely release their hands easily.

I think its close though.

Re: Raise and fold pre-flop

Yeah, but the opponents love of their hands is why we want to stay in. If we hit we'll get plenty of sweet action.

I'm not folding this suited 4-way.

If it was offsuit, it's an easy muck, but since it's suited I'd be tempted to play it, but it probably close. Also, I'm not going to put too much stock in SB's stats with only 100 hands.
