Re cashiers error

Many people berated a poster for saying he kept a $500 error that a cashier made..... At what point though would you try to keep the error?

The question is: How much extra money would it take for you to notpoint it out. Right?
e.g .the guy who would walk out with anything picks the 'under $20 option'.

Hi DV,

Although it's happened only a couple of times, I did give back the extra money to the cashier. $100 one time and $20 the other time. They are normally pretty good. Whether they are shorting you or giving you extra, they will still be in trouble.

On the other hand, I tend to keep the extra money from a cashier if it's a big organization, and give it back if it's some Mom and Pop operation. Go figure.

I wouldn't want to sit at a table with anyone that would keep the $. I doubt morals are something you can turn on and off. If you would cheat the casino, you would cheat another poker player. There is no honor amongst thieves.

not true. I have no qualms about taking money when a BJ dealer makes a mistake, but I have never taken an angle in the poker room. The difference between the two is analagous to stealing from wal-mart and stealing from your neighbor.
