Who is really loosing at poker?!

Ok I know this is a strange question but I get it all the time... If everyone is winning at poker then who is losing?
I am one of those that are winning (Not much still on 50$NL with 700 in bankroll but worked it out from 10$ determined I would make a bankroll from scratch). I mean everyone I talk to says there winners but I _never_ even heard of anyone "Well I play poker but I loose 500$ a month". Cause the money that the pro, most of the people in here, makes must come from the smaller limits and work itself up by people like me trying to reach higher and higher... just a thought I had cause if u loose a high amount of money at the lower limits... well... back to basics?
Anyone here have an idea where the money comes from? Its _alot_ when u think about it...

Why would you talk about losing?

Most losing players are probably just lying to themselves. They look at their huge wins but ignore their huger losses. Well over half this board is probably losing.

That's a huuuge stretch. The rest of the post I agree with though.

(Edited because I'm a retard who can't use quotes.)

Talk with a group of gamblers at any other game and most will tell you that they 'pretty much' break-even 'most of the time' or something to that effect.

The number of senior-citizen bus-junket types who say that in all their play on the slot-machines they have 'pretty much broken-even' is so much higher than the revenues the casinos are making would indicate.

People just lie to themselves and that's pretty much all there is to it.

Agreed.

I'd say > 90% of regular posters here are winners.

long term i've won a few hundred. that's over a few months.

recently i sat down to start grinding out limit. played 2/4 for about 2k hands and won about 300 bucks, promptly lost it in one short session and told myself i'd better go down to .5/1 and go through the hoops that eveyrone else did.

If by "poker" you mean "$25 NL on Party," that would be me after lots of drinking.

Re: Who is really loosing at poker?!

Well there are about 5 million people in America who are addicted to gambling so that could be a solid source of poker revenue. As well as people who make a ton of money (Doctor, Lawyer, Street Hustler, etc.) who think it's fun to mess around on PP and cap pre flop with garbage hands. They lose money and don't care, they also don't find a need to talk about it.
