Quick Wireless Help Please

My wireless just went out all of the sudden.

I have a linksys router and wireless card (laptop).

When I click on the icon in the taskbar, the packets sent is increasing steadily, but no packets are being recieved.

So far I have:

Restarted the computer,

Unplugged the cable modem and router for a minute, then plugged them back in.

Taken the wireless card out and put it back in several times.

Resored my computer to last known good configuration.

Any ideas what is causing this and how I can fix it?

Thanks.

Clear your cookies and reboot? I dunno, just a thought.

There was a while where I couldn't get specific sites that I frequented to load, but random sites would be just fine.

I thought I had some sort of virus, but none of the scans came up with anything. I cleared my cookies one day and bam, everything was back to normal.

I would think this is even more of a possibility if you see packets going back and forth... whoops, no packets are coming in (missed that).

Obviously, if you have a wireless network, you have more than one computer connected to it. Are they both out? If so, good luck. In my situation, the laptop was fine, but my desktop was giving me problems.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Something somewhat similar happens to me sometime. Often times it is that the firewall needs to be reset (e.g. password re-entered for the firewall I have set up). For whatever reason it does not always do this automatically.

You're not using WEP are you? (You should be)

Not that not using it is the problem, it could just be something to do with the key not being correct on your card.

Other than that make sure no settings are changed in the router, MAC filtering for instance. If MAC filtering is on, try turning it off. And if WEP is on, try turning it off and connecting insecurely just to see if that's the problem.
