AK in the small/big blind
 

what is the standard raise with AK in the small or big blind, this seems basic but recently ive raised a normal amount 5-6x the bb and get called with them having position and and wiff the flop and am put in a bad situation

It depends on the number of limpers, the action before you and the texture of the flop.

im talking strictly preflop, lets just say 4 limpers to you in the SB

I like just calling out of the SB and BB with A/K...like you said, you don't have position and if you wiff the flop, you can fold, no harm, no foul. On the flip side, if you hit a big hand, it will be very hard for someone to put you on A/K and could very easily get paid off by someone else limping an inferior Ace, such A/10 or A/J

you need to know if youre in a game where people limp with weaker aces or raise them, and in what position

if youre up against a mix of medium pairs and suited connectors i would MUCH rather take this down preflop in a deep(er) game then play a pot with a TPTK hand out of positon.

i usually put in a big raise (5x bb or so) almost all of the time.

If it's multi-way, I prefer limping, since like you said, you're out of position.

If there are only 1 or 2 limpers to you, I usually put in a slightly bigger than standard raise, to try to compensate for the fact that I'm OOP, hope to get it heads up and try to take it down uncontested on the flop with a follow-up bet (although of course, I won't always make a follow up bet, but like I said, it depends on the texture of the flop).
