I have no idea what to make of this hand. I'm generally all about calling here, but alarms started blaring in my head when UTG moved in. Good or bad fold?

Im actually serious. I can't comprehend why you folded. Why dont you try to explain to us why you did, and when you do you will probably find your answer as to why you shouldnt have.

I would call this. If he has something that beats you he would probably want to milk you a bit. Unless of course he is using reverse psychology.

Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

Tilt is a possibility (had just busted 5 SNGs in a row). But, I don't want to make excuses.

I'm honestly not sure why I folded here. I didn't see him moving in with something that I could beat. I guess that's my reasoning, and I'll stick to it. Right after I folded I was VERY uncertain about the laydown.

OK, so you whole basis of logic in poker is off. You have deeper issues than this one hand.

Why would he move in right off the bat if he outflopped you? Meaning he has 2 pair, a set. Hes most likely checking, or betting to entice (not all in).

However, when he goes all in, it signals he most likely hit a King, or he is on a strong draw (open ended or flush) and is trying to take the pot right there. I think he is actually ahead of you less than 1 times in 10. This was a really bad fold.

Points well taken.

I did actually lose a hand earlier that was eerily similar to this one. Someone had flopped the nut straight, and moved in immediately after the flop against my aces. I called, and busted. This goes to show that at this level, folks aren't always trying to milk you.

no way i fold there. My best bet for his hand would be a flush draw or maybe AK (less likely since you hold AA), I dont see many players placing this bet with trips or two pair, they will wait for you to bet if they're decent and then milk the pot, or atleast checkraise.

I cant see how you you would be behind on this hand more than 5% (10% max, which is pushing it) of the time.

Ive seen many players make that same move with even JJ or 1010, cause "they dont think you got it"

You gotta play this, no matter how many bad beats or out of the moneys in a row. It is like a hugely negative EV play to fold here

oh yeah, and especially at a $10 dollar table. Maybe at a 55 or higher buyin, folding might be a small option, but still a negative EV play to make.

on the 10's, i wouldnt be surprised for the guy to have K9s or k10s.
