Party 5/10 KTo

Villan is like 70/5/1 or very close to it, been fairly passive but erractic. Not to hard to know where you at in a hand against him. Is capable of folding, but does call down quite a bit.

I really dont like the turn raise because he is clearly not folding a better king but may fold a worse hand that has very few outs and would put in another bet on the river. Also, if he 3 bets you have to call and have now put in 3 bets while behind instead of one.

Given your turn raise I like the check on the river because you were probably either behind the whole way or he just got there on the river wtih 9hxh.

I don't like the turn raise either, but I also question the preflop raise in UTG+1 after UTG has already limped.

I've got the same question, I'm folding KTo from the mp after an UTG limp, but I've only got 10K hands at this level, so its not like that means much.

Also, are you folding the turn to a 3-bet? What's the rationale for raising the turn here? I like the river check.

I like calling down after the flop 3-bet.

"Also, are you folding the turn to a 3-bet? What's the rationale for raising the turn here? I like the river check."

The rational for the turn raise is that you are planning on paying off a river bet. Thus the turn raise + checking behind on the river puts in the same number of bets as calling both. So what are the advantages? You have a straight draw as well so the times you do hit you get an extra bet in (assuming he will just check/call the river with a 4 card straight on board). The second advantage is when he is on a draw that he is playing hard but won't put another bet in on the river without improving.
negatives= getting three bet on the turn.

And this more than makes up for any possible advantages. The raise-the-turn-check-the-river play is greatly overused IMO. It works well in some situations for sure, but here it's just totally unnecessary. Especially against an erratic player.
