What\'s the difference between the Dell 9300 and 6000?

I'm trying to figure out which laptop to get, it's going to be used primarily for 4-tabling and using AIM and the internet, I don't download too much stuff besides MP3's. The 6000 is like $400 cheaper, so I don't know if it's worth it to get the 9300 or not. I'm definitely getting the WUXGA screen so I can eliminate overlap on either one, and I'm getting a wireless router as well, anyone have advice on what I should do? I can't find too many reasons why the 9300 is so much better. Thanks for your help.

if you're ordering online you should customize it anyways, there shouldn't be much of a difference either way

You do realize that the 9300 has a 17" monitor and the 6000 is 15.4" right?

That's the only real difference after you customize them. So if you want a bigger screen then get the 9300. You can easily 4 table with the 15.4" on the 6000 though. So if the extra 1.6" worth it then the 9300 is your answer, otherwise go with the 6000 ans save some money. I would just save teh 400 and put it towards a 2100fp if you need a bigger screen.

I just ordered a 9300 with the better screen 1.8 something CPU and 512 of ram.....shipped with tax 1344.00. I was going to get the 6000 but this wound up maybe a few bucks more but seems to be better deal and I love that huge screen. Oh I got a 128 mg graphics card too.

This is meant to be an honest question, but I haven't been able to find a way to phrase it that doesn't sound troll-ish or like a flame; please don't take it that way, I'm honestly interested in the answer.

Do you actually intend to use the laptop as a portable computer, in the sense that it gets put in a bag or whatever and taken from place to place rather than simply from the couch to the desk to the bed? If so, that sorta answers my next question: The extra weight and size of the thing hasn't deterred you from taking it wherever you'd take a more reasonably-sized laptop?

I played around with a 17" Powerbook for about a week, and I can't imagine ever wanting to lug something that huge from home to work ever again.

If/when I pick up the 6000 so I can play poker while sitting on my couch instead of being locked to my desk, I plan on picking up a 2001fp so that I can have a decent display that isn't expected to be portable to use when I'm interested in sitting at the desk.

The 9300 is my first laptop, I have a laptop case and take it with me, I can't imagine it being much different than lugging around any other laptop case.

The 9300 rules.
