Clancy Movies

I'm watching Patriot Games right now. Any time I watch either this, Hunt for Red October, or Clear and Present Danger, it always reminds me of how disgusted I was with The Sum of All Fears. First of all, they dropped Ryan's character back down to status of a rookie analyst. Secondly, they casted Affleck. Just needed to get this little miniature rant off my chest.

Considering that Sum of All Fears was unquestionably Clancy's worst book, it all fits.

Really? It was the first one I read and I quite enjoyed it. But yes, the movie blew.

Wasn't it basically about 700 pages on how to make an atomic bomb? That's all I remember of it, at least.

You make it sound as if Red October, Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger were some kind of master peices

They were good action flicks. Nothing spectacular, but I enjoy them all a lot, especially HFRO.

Yeah, but Tom Clancy didn't write that book.

The books were much better than the movies IMO.
