Question about the KJo hand:

It's a 3-way pot and one person hasnt even acted yet. But with top pair, jack kicker, vs. a blind, you are already suggesting that equity is not just lower than 50%, but probably is at an abysmal 30%. I find this hard to believe.

I also want to know what you're supposed to do when the scare card hits (of all degrees, ten, spade, ten of spades, another queen, etc.) but there's still a good possibility your hand is winning. Or if the bettor is an active player who'd bet any pair in that situation.

I'm not saying anything about your equity in that example, except to say that your equity edge might be small on the flop, but it will certainly be quite large if if a blank falls on the turn. Basically it's just passing up on a small edge to take advantage of a larger edge later.

If the scare card hits, it really depends on your read on the active player and what the action is. I really couldn't make a sweeping comment for all opponents.
