Review of the new gear
So last night was the first night with Copag cards and Nevada Jacks Desert Sands. We had been using dice chips and kems previously. the cards were the largest magnum size. i thought this would be a good idea so the flop could be seen better by everyone at any place in the table, but alas, i was wrong. the suits are far to small and low on the card in comparison to the large number, but i guess thats all they could do with the space. you must lift the cards higher to see the suits. other than that the cards are great. no need to get Kem anymore. they slide like butta.
the chips were also amazing. the sounds were great. it was also nice to pick up a stack of 25 or so when dispensing chips, and pass it to a player without them spewing everywhere. overall a great night with a great setup. |
Re: Review of the new gear
First off... congrats on the new setup. I like those Desert Sands chips a lot.
Second... are your Copags so slick that the top couple of cards slide off of the deck when it's sitting on the table? Mine are constantly sliding around and it drives us all crazy. So we end up using the Kems all of the time instead... Maybe it's time to invest in a set of Dal Negros. |
Re: Review of the new gear
Ya, the cards definitly were sliding off the top. My Kems were like that at first also. I think as they get handled and the skin oil gets on them, they may get better. I really enjoyed using them, so I am definitly going to stick with them for the time being and see if they "break in"

Copag magnum indexes?

I've only see Kems in Magnum, not Copags. Where did you get them? If you can get a picture posted, that would be great. The Kem Magnums are very easy to read from the small corner. I don't know if they'll be available much longer, however, or if USPC Co. will be making new ones. Thanks LL |

Re: Copag magnum indexes?
Larry, I'm sure there are plenty of places online to find them, but I got mine at Gamers' Paradise in the local mall. In fact, all they're carrying right now are the magnum indexes -- I can only find the normal indexes online.
An aside for anyone wondering: I really didn't like the idea of using the magnum index. . .until I used them. Once you see them for a couple of hands, you forget they look like cards for a bunch of geriatrics. I haven't found that you have to lift them any higher from the table to see what you've got in the hole. |
Re: Copag magnum indexes?
Larry, sorry to confuse you. i thought "magnum" was a good word choice so everyone would know what i was talking about, but copag uses a different phrase. whatever copag calls them, we were using the largest possible copag index. i have never used kem magnums
