Playing Poker in Germany...

Hey,

I was just wondering if any of you have played poker in Europe, specifically in Germany. I will be there for a little less than two weeks this summer. My parents told me that there is a pretty extravagant casino in Baden-Baden, and I went to the Baden-Baden website today. It said that they offered poker, but it did not give any details about the limits and types of games spread. If any of you have any experience playing in Germany, please let me know.

P.S. -- I know that Omaha is the popular game in Europe, but what type? PLO8, limit high/low, or just PLO high? Thanks.

I looked into it a little further, and I guess that they just spread 7CS high. Guess I'll have to buff up on that for a few months before I cross the pond.

In Europe in general, they mostly play pot limit holdem and pot limit Omaha. In Britain, Ireland, and eastern Europe practically everything is pot limit including 7CS. In Germany, Autria, and Holland they play a lot of limit poker, but not generally as much as in the US.

I don't know if they only play 7CS in Germany. You might find limit holdem and pot limit whatever also.

PL? Damn it. I'm a limit player. Time to take a crash course in omaha and PL.

You should find plenty of limit poker in Germany, but not in the eastern and western ends of Europe.
